Chapter Organization
We are the Twin Mountain Tonesmen Chorus and the San Angelo, Texas chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. The adminstrative needs of the chapter are handled by the Board of Directors consisting of the President, Vice President of Chapter Development, Program Vice President, Vice President of Marketing and PR, Music Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three members-at-large. History
The original San Angelo chapter formed in 1955, but went inactive after a few years. The chapter was reactivated in 1970-71 and was named the Twin Mountain Tonesmen. After a couple of years, the chapter went inactive again until it was reactivated in 1979. Since that time, the chapter has had slow but steady growth and today has an active membership of approximately 50 men. Support of Charitable Organizations
The Society supports a national charity: Sing America/Sing Canada. This program is designed to encourage music education in public schools. The chapter donates a portion of our annual proceeds to this cause. The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is our local charity. We proudly donate a sizable portion of our proceeds from the Singing Valentines and our annual show to the WTRC. ...
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held every Monday night from 7:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the Southland Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Loop 306, in San Angelo, Texas.
